The global SaaS bloat index
Stack Tax
Every company pays for software twice: for the subscription and for the people who run it. Compare measured software spend and modeled people costs by company size and industry.
$4.75M
measured software waste per 1,000 employees in the heaviest band, per year
$3,943
unused-seat cost per employee per year in the heaviest band
Across 5 company-size bands and 4 industries, each scored separately.
What SaaS bloat costs
The score combines four measures: app sprawl, unused seats, spend per employee, and price increases above the market baseline. Two of them, unused seats and price increases, can be priced, so every group gets a measured bill as well as a score, in dollars per employee per year. Beside the score, the operator axis prices the second bill: what the people who run the stack cost, as a modeled band.
See where the software spend goes
Measured waste from unused licenses and overpayment is reported in dollars per employee per year. Modeled consolidation savings stay a separate range.
Every segment, every measure
Company-size bands and industry cuts scored on four measures. A segment cannot offset a bad measure with a good one, so a single weak area still shows.
